Technology in Costa Rica Always Advancing
Although Latin America and advanced technologies are not always thought of as going hand-in-hand in most peoples minds, technology in Costa Rica is actually very advanced. All of the creature comforts of home are easy to find, whether you re visiting Costa Rica or you ve chosen to begin living in Costa Rica full- or part-time. In fact, technology in Costa Rica is so advanced, and its economic and political climates are so favorable, that it is quickly becoming one of the most popular places in the world to maintain call centers and Internet help desks. This means a wealth of new job opportunities for people living in Costa Rica. With the Costa Rican government s recent addition of bandwidth, Internet speeds and the variety of Internet-based services for people living in Costa Rica will continue to grow at a rapid pace. As the industry is opened up to privatization, Costa Rica technology will benefit from heightened market competition, leading to even lower prices and better services for everyone living in Costa Rica. In another area of Costa Rican technology, a strong cellular infrastructure is in place to support cell phones in Costa Rica, and most of the major players in wireless communications have already made their presence known there, including Motorola, Ericsson, Sony, Siemens, Alcatel, and Nokia. There is a wide variety of cell phones in Costa Rica, as well as a complete selection of cell phone accessories, available to everyone living in Costa Rica. Across Latin America, Costa Rica is ranked in the top three for technological advancement, as announced in the 2006 Latin American Technology Index. Costa Rica is number one in PC and fixed-telecom penetration, and widespread use of Internet in Costa Rica was ranked second. High-speed, broadband Internet in Costa Rica is available, and more than one-quarter of the people living in Costa Rica are now wireless. The medical technology in Costa Rica is also highly advanced. All public hospitals are committed to continually replacing any outdated technological equipment, which has long made Costa Rica a popular place for medical supply companies to do business. With a growing number of foreigners visiting Costa Rica each year in search of safe, affordable medical procedures (such as cosmetic dentistry, breast implants, laser eye surgery, and facelifts), the availability of state-of-the-art medical technology in Costa Rica will continue to rise. by David Lovendahl, Costa Vista Marketing

Tourists are Flocking to the Costa Rica Pacific Coast
The Pacific Ocean Coast of Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful. The northern region is also much more developed than the Caribbean Sea or Atlantic Ocean coastline. The Pacific coast, which is continuously speckled with classic Costa Rica beach properties, is a 630-mile coastline that features many bays, coves and inlets that give the coastline its distinctive features. Costa Rica s Pacific coast is home to the famous Jaco Beach and many others like it. Most tourists and locales enjoy the Pacific coast because there are so many things to do in the area. For instance, visitors to the south Pacific coast can enjoy hiking in the Corvocado National Park or horseback riding at Rincon de Oso. And those staying on the mid-Pacific coast of Costa Rica will be minutes away from the adventure ATV tours at Quepos “Manual Antonio and the historical areas of Puntarenas. Meanwhile, those who choose the northern coast will be able to soak in the sun in Guanacaste, which is home to some of the most exquisite Costa Rica beach property there is. Hermosa, Tamarindo, Nosara & Flamingo beaches are all prime locations. All of these: the varied coastline, the beaches, the amenities and the nearby national parks are part of what gives the Costa Rica Pacific coast region its charm. Beyond being charming, the Pacific coast is a bona fide Costa Rica real estate hotspot. The region is where a majority of the Costa Rica beach properties are currently located and as such, has quickly grown as one of the prime tourist areas. But where there are tourists, there are opportunities and real estate investors are definitely taking advantage of those before them. In efforts to grow the Costa Rican economy further, the Costa Rican government is permitting acres upon acres of Costa Rica land to be sold. Of course, only certain acreages are can be purchased, because the government pays special attention to assure the natural wildlife and plant life is preserved. Anyone thinking of visiting the Pacific coast “for business or personal reasons “should keep in mind that the rainy season in that region of Costa Rica typically occurs from May through November so it s best to visit December through April. During the rainy season, afternoon showers are prevalent in the afternoon but you can still get about 5 hours of sunshine through it all. For those interested in investing in Costa Rica beach properties or Costa Rica land available for sale, it s recommended that visits to both coasts as well as inland hotspots like the Monteverde and San Jose regions. After all, the country is only the size of West Virginia. by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise
